Game night a “sweet success”

Students and families enjoyed a fun game night on Friday, April 26th.  Students had asked that Mr. Witt dress up as a gorilla, but since that didn’t pan out, students enjoyed seeing Miss Lee toss a pie into his face instead!  See 50 more pictures on our Facebook page!

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd present “E-I-E-I-Oops!”

Springtime means K-2 Operetta time.  The students dressed up as various farm animals and encouraged the stubborn cow on the farm to say “moo.”    Lots of photos are on Facebook!

FLS students have read 15 million words since December, and it’s time to celebrate!

FLS will be hosting an all-school game night on Friday, April 26 from 5-6:30pm. Parent volunteers are needed to help set up, run games, and clean up after the event.  If you are willing to help in any way please fast direct Miss Lee or email her at klee@flsweb.org.

$1,500 in grant funds used to increase opportunities for student health and activity

FLS recently received a $1,500 grant from Rice County SHIP (Statewide Health Improvement Program). You can read about it in the Daily News, or on the website:

All-School Spring Musical Coming Up

Mark your calendars for the all-school spring musical on Thursday  March 14th at 6:30pm.  This year the students will be presenting “Rescue in the Night” based on the Biblical account of Daniel in the lions’ den.

There will also be a dress rehearsal that families are welcome to attend Tuesday,  March 12th at 1pm.

This is a wonderful opportunity to invite friends and relatives into our school for a visit!

Open House

There will be an open house for new families who are interested in learning more about FLS on Tuesday, February 26th from 5-7pm.  For families with children going into kindergarten, there will be a special session from 6-7 pm.

Registration is open!

Registration for the 2013-2014 school year is now open!  Tuition for the year is again $2950, with a non-refundable registration fee of $250.  However, there are incentives in place to encourage early registration!

  • Register before February 16th and pay a registration fee of $100 per child (a $150 discount!) and be eligible for a $1,000 tuition credit drawing.
  • Register before March 2nd and pay a registration fee of $150 (a $100 discount) and be eligible for a $750 tuition credit drawing.
  • Register before March 16th and pay a registration fee of $175 (a $75 discount) and be eligible for a $500 tuition credit drawing.
  • Register before April 6th and pay a registration fee of $200 (a $50 discount) and be eligible for a $250 tuition credit drawing.
Students must be registered before being considered for financial aid by Tuition Ad Data Services (TADS).  Financial aid will be processed on April 27th.

$10,870 raised on Give to the Max Day!

Thanks to $4500+ in donations, plus $4500 in matching funds, FLS raised $10,870!!!  Thank you to everyone who donated!  What a fantastic blessing to the school and students. We will update soon on how the money will be used.

FLS has obtained $4,500 in matching funds for this event! That means that the first $4,500 we raise will turn into $9,000. It’s not too late to build on this fund even more; I would love to have more matching funds available. If you know of an individual on business that would like to make a larger donation, ask if they would consider donating to help build the matching fund or sponsor a matching grant. Nothing encourages people to donate more than knowing that their $25 or $50 donation will become $50 or $100. A matching fund of $9,000 or more would be a real blessing!

Don’t forget that the PTL has decided that they will be give a free Chili Jam ticket to anyone who presents a receipt showing that they donated $20 or more during GIVE TO THE MAX DAY 2012!
