My name is Chrysteena Saehler.
I am the Administrator at FLS.
I currently live in Owatonna with my husband who is a math teacher at Owatonna
Middle School. We are both involved at Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault. I am
also involved with RealLife in Owatonna and my husband and I are also involved in
Youth Ministry at Trinity in Faribault. We get to share God’s word to high school students, who may
have never heard of who Jesus is or what He did during his ministry on earth.
I enjoy seeing the students each and everyday. I started as a teacher and enjoy working with students
because it is always a surprise everyday as to what they will do or say. I did not
originally intend to be a teacher but God called me to serve the church and I have
not looked back since starting my degree to become a Lutheran schoolteacher and Administrator. I
enjoy working at FLS because of the more individualized time I get to work with my
students.
My favorite moment that has happened since I began teaching is the willingness
from the older students to help younger students at any given moment. They never
hesitate to jump up and help when they are asked. It is always nice to see the
younger kids not afraid to talk and play with the older kids out at recess.
During the time at school and during extra-curricular activities, I enjoy sharing my
favorite Bible verse with the kids I come in contact with. My favorite Bible verse is
Exodus 14:14, “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” This
verse has meaning to me because of how much my life has changed and through
some of those changes I have had to be reminded to fully rely on God and the plans
that He has for me and my life.
